What is ECU tuning
ECU tuning means optimising the software of the engine control unit (ECU) so the car runs more efficiently, more smoothly or with higher performance - based on the specific hardware and goal.
We don't use universal “off-the-shelf” files. Every car has a different software version, hardware, condition and usage - the tune has to match that.
Stage 1 - on stock hardware
Stage 1 is usually applied on stock or near-stock hardware. Focused on better response, usable torque and refined engine behaviour without changing the mechanical setup.
Stage 2 and Stage 2+ - with matching hardware
Stage 2 and higher require matching hardware changes - intake, downpipe, intercooler and other supporting modifications. MDMotion can help with selecting, sourcing and installing the components so the entire process is organised in one place.
Custom Tuning
An individual tuning file built around the car, hardware, software version and the specific goal. Suitable for non-standard configurations or specific requirements.
Why diagnostics matter before tuning
A good result starts with diagnostics. We verify the technical condition, ECU/software version, installed hardware and possibilities - and only then propose a specific configuration.
